My name is Jessica, my friends call me bohee or bo, and my family calls me boy. I grew up in Toronto and am still based in YYZ. I cross time zones for a living, often spending only 24 hours there, wherever that might be. Food is my favorite way to explore a new place, and often my motivation to go to certain destinations. I'm quite alright with garlic in everything and I often carry a small tube of sriracha sauce in my purse. Don't judge. My comfort food is always something hot, spicy, and soupy. Usually, Pho or dwenjang jjiggae (된장찌개). I love to cook, one of my love languages is to feed people. My biggest pet peeve is paying for a bad meal, there is nothing worse than wasted calories and money. Grocery shopping abroad is one of my favorite things to do. Some people collect trinkets like spoons, shot glasses and magnets, I despise all of the above. I collect stamps in my passport and condiments from around the world. My pantry is stocked with truffle oil from Paris, jiffy corn muffin mix from the US, fruit flavored soju from Korea, and there's always some clotted cream from London in my freezer.
This blog has been a heart project of mine for the last few years but I never had the guts to start it. I have notes on my phone filled with city guides that I send to family and friends when they travel to places I have already been. I guess those were baby steps to finally putting it out there for the world. I've been lucky enough to spend quite a lot of time in Seoul, New York, Vancouver, Los Angeles and London. I'll probably start with the places I know best.
My blog may be one in a million travel blogs out there and may not be anything crazy innovative or new. But, it's my take on these places and more than anything, a way for me to make my memories last a little bit longer.
Follow me as I skip across time zones to #seetheworld and #eattheworld all the while #perpetuallyjetlagged.
